The 14th Annual WINS Breakfast features 2020 Louise Eisenhardt Lecturer, Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson. The breakfast is held at the AANS headquarters hotel, The Westin Boston Waterfront, directly connected to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.

Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson

Accomplished engineer, entrepreneur and educator, Kristina Johnson has led an influential career spanning academia, business and government. Ms. Johnson is the 13th chancellor of the State University of New York (SUNY), the nation’s largest comprehensive higher education system. She previously served as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Johns Hopkins University. She spent eight years as dean of the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University and also served on the faculty of University of Colorado-Boulder from 1985-98, where she cofounded and directed the National Science Foundation’s Engineering Research Center.

An accomplished researcher, Ms. Johnson holds 118 U.S. and international patents and has published 149 referenced papers and proceedings. Prior to joining to her position at SUNY, she was cofounder and CEO of Cube Hydro Partners LLC, a clean-energy infrastructure company focused on building and operating hydropower plants in North America. She also cofounded a company responsible for 3-D effects in movies, such as Avatar, Gravity and hundreds of other films.

She previously served as Under Secretary of Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy in the Obama administration, managing a broad $10.5 billion energy and environment portfolio.
